Wentworth Court is committed to providing the highest standard of care and is working with training consultant Drew Ennett-Saunders to deliver training programmes for staff at Wentworth Court.

We take a whole home approach to training, where everyone including the maintenance team, kitchen staff, housekeepers as well as care assistants and nursing staff undertake a Care Certificate. The qualification is part of the induction process for new staff, and involves 15 units including safeguarding, dignity, dementia care, equality and infection prevention.

Manager Kate Stevens says. “By taking a whole home approach we ensure that everyone has the same level of knowledge and has the confidence to do the best for our residents.”

Senior managers are also ensuring that they are kept up-to-date with best practice in dementia care and are studying for qualifications including a Level 5 In Management and Leadership
